Dude, you have to go with the big stage piano companies for gigging instruments, namely yamaha and Roland.

I used many brands but never involved natives instruments. Its so ridiculus how poorly designed and made by for that price range. I think NI is just selling their bunch of VSTs as a physical product when they intending the sell keyboards. This why they fell. Definitiley look out the Novation for the next one.

I cannot hear this no matter how I try. I can only tell that it’s a prime number that’s not 3 & it’s less than number below it (i.e. slower than 4/4). I’m not good at guessing the lower number but usually I can get the top one. But I can’t figure out how I’m doing it. When I try to count, my error rate goes up. But my gut instinct is always right, when I have one. Some of these prime meters I just can’t get!

I got a lot of NI hardware (2 maschine and a maschine+ that I adore) and software but I had to admit I bought a S49 Mk2 two months ago, not using it everyday and stored into a specific hard case and since 2 weeks my middle C# begins to make a lot of noise and loose resistance! 😔 I have to admit I’m disappointed by this product!! Does key quality improve on Mk3? 🙄

I bought that keyboard used, and before it I had an Arturia Essential 61, so I can only say that the difference is very visible. This is a much better quality keyboard, and I believe your problems were due to a random factory error combined with heavy use. When I connected the keyboard to the PC for the first time, I had a problem with freezing and it stopped working occasionally, so I contacted support. Very quickly I got advice and found that it was the fault of the USB on the PC and not the keyboard. When I plugged it into another USB port, everything worked as it should. For now, I'm very satisfied, and I think that complaining about the black keyboard showing the dust more strongly is not really something unusual :)

How quickly do issues surface? I'm wondering if they have done revisions and am considering a refurbished with only 90 days warranty

The beginning of the piece, which sounds like it would be more in 6/4 (can only hear the clap accents on the 2 - 4 & 6) but at 0:48 you can definitely hear the (small alle breve) march rhythm / puls being created by the 6/2 subdivided beats now with a polyrhythm against 1 equivalated bar of 6/4 (claps) again with the accents on the backbeat 2 - 4 & 6 (even though its straight + evenly accented and not a natural swing rhythm). Taking into consideration that these (drums / beats / instr.) are of course all being created by software without dynamic variations on the main accents.

Wonderful objective review, I really appreciate the depth you put in, and I know the edits to show specifically why the problems exist weren't easy to do and I appreciate them. I was going go buy this as a used model (now 5 years after the video) but will now skip this model based on your findings.

Next time, buy the Studiologic SL 88 Studio , or even the grand. The studio has the same keybed, but is very high quality (all metal casing), and about half the price of the MK2. The grand has a newer and even better fatar keybed, and is sold at about the same pricepoint.

Lol indeed. @cococolumbia did a similar number on her second album in a cover of Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush. It was 3+2+3+2+3+2+3+2+3+2+3+2... +2, i.e. 6 beats of quintuple swing + a lone "2" tacked at the end, making it add up to 32.
